Mk4 Supra Artwork For Project Car Build, 3d Printed Home Or Office Decor

Artwork of a Toyota Mk4 Supra that is 3d printed and displayed on a shelf to announce a project build. 3d printed in black and white filament.

Artwork for the sports car enthusiasts that love the Mk4 Supra. Anyone that has started a project car knows how it feels once you first commit to the project and also once your vision is completed. This artwork is to commemorate that experience. The front of the car is shown from a low point of view and surrounded by sacred geometry patterns that are held within by a solid frame. The Toyota Supra’s artwork can be wall mounted or left standing on a flat surface; in the photo above shown standing on a shelf. The 3d printed artwork is composed of several layers that need to be glued and assembled together. One of the layers requires a filament color change to occur during the print job.

In this design, I used white “cloudy white” filament for the background and then changed to black colored filament for the Supra’s outline. I chose this type of white filament because it is translucent and lets light shine through it. I placed and LED light behind the artwork for a nice diffused lighting effect. The white filament is opaque enough that you don’t see the LED light behind it as a distraction. The LED light needs to be bright enough and far away enough from the artwork as to not create a “hotspot” on the white printed piece.

If your 3d printer only prints one color at a time, then you will have to swap out the filament manually during the printing process. If you are new to this, look for information on the slicer that you use for instructions on how to swap filaments during a print job. There are plenty of tutorials online to show you the way.
