Moto G Play Tripod Mount

A Motorola G Play 2024 model phone that is attached to a professional tripod with a 3d printed holder in portrait format.

Recently, leaving your gear unattended in the Los Angeles area is a nerve-racking ordeal. When I plan to be at a distance from my cameras, I use this type of phone mounted on a tripod. I designed a case for the Motorola G Play 2024 phone that attaches to a standard tripod thread. The phone holder can be mounted in portrait or landscape. The 3d printed housing goes around the perimeter of the phone providing some protection in case the phone tips over while attached to the tripod.

The STL files can be easily printed with supports and I recommend using PETG filament. Once printed, you can attach your quick release plates to the holder or alternatively, you can mount them to inexpensive small tripods and keep them in your gear bag. I’m also using them to monitor 3d prints over WiFi on my Mk3. As some of you know, the Prusa Mk3 didn’t come with a camera solution out of the box, and I don’t feel like going thru all the trouble of adding the extra hardware for that functionality.
